I am a candidate for Diaconal Ministry with the United Church, and a current student of the Centre for Christian Studies. My Church-homes are in Central Alberta and in North-Western British Columbia. I currently live in Terrace, BC along the beautiful Skeena River. I work as an Instructional Assistant at Northwest Community College. My hobbies include fibre arts, kayaking, hiking, skiing, food-growing and bread-baking.
I am looking forward to learning more about the intersections of religion and public life in China, both historically and today. What are the similarities between our countries, and the differences? The small city I live in is directly impacted by Canada’s economic trade with China. I hope the learning and relationships that I will gain from this experience will contribute to greater understanding and new ways of being with our neighbours to the West.
